Weezy Weekly: March 22, 2017 - Lil Wayne Thanks Rick Ross and Disses Birdman

This week in Weezy Weekly, we have news from SXSX and Rick Ross' new track.

Last weekend in his show at South by Southwest Lil Wayne made another statement about the now hated villain of his Cash Money sage, the Birdman. Wayne declared that "Y'all know I'm going through some bullshit in my motherfucking career...... but there's way too much good pussy in the world to worry about bullshit ass Birdman."

Rick Ross has a new single from his upcoming album, called "Idols Become Rivals." In the track Rozay blasts Birdman from opening bar to the end. He sticks up for Lil Wayne and DJ Khaled in a track revealing that he never wanted to have problems with Baby, but that he feels forced to stick up for his friends and tell the world the truth.

In his song, he talks about finding out that Birdman's watch was fake, that he screwed DJ Khaled and put him a financial hole, as well as talking about how disgracefully he's treated Lil Wayne.

Wayne tweeted a thank you to Ricky after the track:

Weezy also gave a shoutout to the daytime ESPN show host of Coast2Coast, Cari Champion.

We all know Wayne is a fan of ESPN so seeing him give love to a rising star should be no surprise.

Weezy Weekly: March 15, 2017 - Lil Wayne's Back on Tour and Three New Tracks

Weezy's been busy as of late. Over the weekend Nicki Minaj released a pair of new tracks titled "No Frauds" and "Changed It," both featuring Lil Wayne. The new tracks come amidst the recent beefing between Nicki and Remy Ma and are the most recent collaborations between Wayne and Nicki since her mega-hit "Only."

Stereogum article on Nicki's two latest releases.

New Tour

Lil Wayne has also announced a brand new American tour called "Kloser 2 U" and a pair of smaller tours labeled "Kampus Krash" and "Worldwide Weezy Tour."

The "Kloser 2 U" tour dates kick off in Louisville, KY on April 14th, and wrap up on May 11th in Detroit, MI. You can get tickets from Ticketmaster here.

New Merchandise

Lil Wayne also announced via Twitter that he is releasing a new clothing line for Young Money.

Many people have been speculating about what this means for the future of Trukfit. The website is still alive and well, and much of the Trukfit gear is usually sold out. However, there's only so many brands you can promote, so it will certainly be interesting to see how the two brands play out.

You can check out the new Young Money clothing line here.

New Song with Raekwon

Raekwon has a new album coming and Weezy has graced it with a guest verse. The new track is called "My Corner" and features one of the best Lil Wayne verses in a long time. Raekwon's verse seems to take Weezy to a place in rapping that sounds like his collabs with Juelz Santana. It's a different era of Weezy, one that Mixtape Weezy and New Weezy fans will love alike.

It's personally my favorite Weezy song of 2017 so far. Check it out below.
